Don’t forget, testimonials are important for your website too!
Testimonials are a really important part of your website too (hint – if you haven’t got a testimonials section, get one added!). Don’t think of them as ‘boasting’ or showing off. They aren’t. They help people find out more about you and give people a ‘taste’ of whether you’re for them or not. And they’re easy to get too. Have a read of my ‘do testimonials matter’ blog to get inspired. Make sure you add the name of the person who has provided the testimonial and also a link to their website. They’ve done a nice thing for you, so it’s good to give them a proper bit of promotion too! And make sure you ask permission. Always ask permission.
Think about it this way, when you’re making a purchasing decision, whether you’re looking to buy a product or service, what elements do you consider? Do you find reviews useful? Do you Google the product you’re thinking of buying to see what others think? And how frustrating is it when you can’t find anything?
